ADHESIVE COMPOSITION FOR PRESSURE SENSITIVE SELF-ADHESIVE STRAPS

The adhesive comprises natural rubber 15-25, polyisoprene elastomer of 15-25 Mooney plasticity 0-20, acrylic cooplymers 20-25, acrylovinyl copolymers 0-15, resol-type phenol formaldehyde resins 30-80, colophony 0-5, petroleum resins of 75-115 deg.C softening point 0-5, and zinc oxide 0-2 parts. It also incorporates dioctyl phthalate 0-15, mineral oil 0-4, aminic anti-oxidant 0.5-1 parts, e.g. phenyl naphthylamine, and sufficient cyclohexane to give 10-20 per cent dry matter content. The tape is used in electrical insulation work.
