Each end of the housing (3) contg. one or two fluorescent tubes (9) and parabolic reflectors (10) is terminated in a fork (4). The two prongs (6) extend parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing. From the base of the fork (4) the axis is prolonged outwards by a tubular attachment (5) separable from the fork and a tubular distance piece (8). The prongs are hollow and sufficiently capacious to accommodate the electrical circuit elements required for the operation of the lighting system. ADVANTAGE - No additional compartment for electrical components in control of the lighting system is necessary.
