The invention concerns a method of producing a pulley for a multiple V-belt drive. A blank in the form of a disc (3) with a central hub and a thick rim is first produced. A shallow groove is formed in the rim by rotating the blank and pressing a contoured roller radially against the rim so that the two flanges (4, 4a) are formed. The blank is subjected to a second forming operation which produces a rim with raised edges and a flat central region. A third operation increase the radial height of the flanges and a fourth operation produces the V grooves (5). USE - V-belt pulleys.
