<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the burning of heating resistors of a recording head by providing a power interrupting means which interrupts a power supply to the recording head when an abnormality is detected on a detection signal from a detection means. CONSTITUTION:Image data for one line stored in a line memory 110 is read and serially transmitted to a shift register 130 of a thermal head 13, thereafter being set in a latch circuit 131. An ink sheet 14 and recording paper 11 are fed by one line. A trigger signal is outputted to a pulse width control part 133 of the thermal head 13, and a reference clock signal is outputted. Whether the reference clock signal 138 fed back from the pulse width control part 133 of the thermal head 13 is inputted and can be detected is then checked. If it cannot be detected, a switch circuit 135 is turned OFF based on a switch signal 136 to prevent a power supply to the thermal head 13. Thus, the recording processing is interrupted, and an error processing, such as an alarm indication, is executed.</p> |
