A U-shaped support (1,26) is attached to the vehicle chassis, the pedal (16) being pivotably mounted between its arms. The pedal bolt is mounted in the arms without axial play. A rod linked to the bolt remote from the pivot point acts against a restoring force, esp. one exerted by a braking element. - The support is in two parts; each with a pot-shaped bolt bearing (25) opening towards the other part. The bolt length corresponds to the bearing base separation. The pedal is welded to the bolt and both support parts. A switch (48) for the braking light is joined to an impact plate.
