PURPOSE:To allow the determination of the pronunciation of foreign language words as Japanese by a slight operation of an operator by applying conversion rules to the phonetic symbol strings of the inputted foreign language words to obtain KANA (Japanese syllabary) character strings. CONSTITUTION:The conversion rules to convert the phonetic symbols which can describe the pronunciation of the foreign language words to the character arrays to indicate the pronunciation as Japanese are previously prepd. by using a pronunciation dictionary 17 consisting of a Japanese word section 17a and a foreign language word section 17b. The phonetic symbol strings of the foreign language words are converted to the KANA character strings by applying these conversion rules. The pronunciation of the foreign language words as Japanese can be determined by the slight operation of the operator in this way. |
