A resin-dispersion water paint compsn. contains (a) a continuous phase, consisting of an aq. medium and a water-based resin, (b) a dispersed phase consisting of a water-insoluble resin obtd. by reacting an epoxide or isocyanate with a cpd. contg. functional gps. which react with epoxy or isocyanate gps. so that the reacted proportion of epoxy or isocyanate gps. is 10-100%. The water-insol. resin may be formulated with an organic solvent.
