PURPOSE:To provide a porous material readily handleable and giving good effects on organisms when placed near the organisms, by employing a far IR ray-radiating material and a magnetic material as main components. CONSTITUTION:The powder of a far IR ray-radiating material such as a ceramic and the powder of a magnetic material such as ferrite or magnetite are mixed with each other in a suitable ratio, mixed further with a binder, calcined and subsequently magnetized with a suitable magnetic force. When the prepared porous material is employed for soil, the water retainability and air transmissibility of the soil are improved to give good effects on the growth of plants. When employed for the plant-raising beds of water culture, etc., the porous material further gives the same effects on plants. |
