<p>A thermodynamic drive having a thrust venturi (20) through which air may freely pass and an air intake tube (28) attached inside at the venturi's smallest diameter. A combustion chamber (34) is attached on one end to the intake tube and contains an outlet nozzle (38) on the other end. Pressurized combustible fuel is preheated through a boiler (42), and a collector ring (46) located in contact with the combustion chamber. The fuel is introduced into the chamber and mixes with ambient air that has been compressed into the intake tube by the high pressure gases being directed linearly through the venturi throat from the outlet nozzle. Combustion is started by a spark or glow plug (54) creating high pressure inertial energy that produces a propulsion thrust. Further supercharging is accomplished through the combined starter and supercharging nozzle (68). One or more systems may be used with a single venturi to increase the thrust capabilities.</p> |
