Measurement value indicators for blood pressure, temp., and pulse are incorporated in a pressure sleeve (2) of the type used for pressure up to 280 mm Hg., and include a resistance or thermistor indicator for temp. measurement in the range 15-45 deg.C. The pulse is either recorded by a microphone incorporated in the sleeve, or by the superimposed pressure variations in the sleeve. Before measurement values are transmitted from the mobile measurement unit (1) to the stationary micro-computer (6), the operator keys in the patient reference number, department, and his or her own reference number on the keyboard provided. These data, via the transmitter/receiver system (4) are transferred to the micro-computer. The micro-computer has the patient name stored in its memory, and this name is transmitted by the stationary transmitter (5) to the mobile measurement unit where it is shown on the VDU. If the name agrees, measurements of pulse, blood pressure and temp. commence by the operator pressing a start button. The air pump starts, increasing pressure in the sleeve (2) to e.g. 200 mmHg. When the required pressure is reached, the micro-processor opens a valve so that it slowly reduces. A soft-ware menu is used, allowing all data to be immediately available from the computer memory, and also allows for recording of bowel evacuation and urine.
|
