PURPOSE:To improve low-temp. impact strength and heat resistance by mixing a thermoplastic polyester resin with a specific modified ethylenic copolymer and an amide compd. CONSTITUTION:A modified ethylenic copolymer is prepd. by grafting 0.1-10 wt.% unsatd. dicarboxylic acid (deriv.)(e.g. maleic anhydride), in the presence of a radical initiator, onto a copolymer of 50-96.9 wt.% ethylene with 3-40 wt.% monomer comprising a 3C or higher alpha-olefin (e.g. propylene) or 3-8C unsatd. carboxylic ester (e.g. ethyl acrylate). Then, a thermoplastic polyestre resin is melt-mixed with 1-40 wt.% said ethylenic copolymer and 0.01-10 wt.% amide compd. of the formula, wherein R is an n-valent org. group; X is a 2-10C (substd.) alkylene; Y is COOH, OH, SH, or NH2; and (n) is 2-4. |
