PURPOSE:To make improvements in bending fatigue resistance and dimensional stability besides service life by constituting a reinforcer with a plaited cord cylindrically braided with even pieces of filament yarn of more four pieces consisting of dextrorotatory driving filament for S twisting and levorotatory driving filament for X twisting. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcer 2 of a toothed belt A is composed of plural pieces of plaited cords 7 cylindrically braided with more than four pieces of filament yarn consisting of dextrorotatory driving filament yarn for S twisting and levorotatory driving filament yarn for Z twisting, and an angular difference between a twist angle of the driving filament yarn and a braid angle of the plaited cord 7 is set to less than 10 deg.. The twist angle of the driving filament yarn is set to be approximate or equal to the braid angle of the plaited cord, and since a monofilament angle in the cord axial direction of the plaited cord is approximated to zero, resistibility against a shearing stress by means of matrix rubber of monofilament is strengthened, thus bending fatigue resistance is sharply improved.
