<p>The device comprises a tub (4) rotatably mounted around a vertical axis in an enclosure (1), and a compressor plate (11) activated by an actuator (13). A shredding device is provided at the bottom of the tub and comprises sharp projections (5) formed on the bottom of the tub and a contra-rotating helical wheel, and holes (6) are formed in the cylindrical wall of the tub. First, the garbage is shredded between the bottom of the tub and the compressor plate, then the compressor plate is raised and the shredded garbage is drained. The garbage may then be compressed and dried by the heated compressor plate (11).</p> |
