A folding arrangement for folding specimens contains two rotatable rollers (2,3) with a fold (4) gap between them. One roller is mounted in a fixed frame (1) and the other in an arm (5a) of a two-arm pivoting lever (5) with a pivot axis parallel to the first roller's rotation axis. The second arm (5b) is engaged by a press. adjustment element (17) via a spring element under a small constant bias. The pressure adjuster is engaged by a coaxial thickness adjuster (16) via a thread. The adjusters are moved relative to a fixed block to reduce the fold gap until a defined application pressure is reached. The pressure adjuster is then moved w.r.t. the thickness adjuster until the required fold pressure is reached. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for paper fold specimens, the arrangement is improved to ensure accurate folding pressure without measuring thickness and compressibility.
