OPERATION OF CHEMICAL HEAT STORAGE DEVICE

PURPOSE:To contrive the improvement of heat conductivity between reacting materials and a heat exchanger by introducing a reactant and an unreactive gas between the reacting materials appropriately and intermittently. CONSTITUTION:A heat is given to a heat exchanger 7 to vaporize a reactant 4 and the resulting vapor is introduced by opening a valve 8 through a connecting pipe 5 into reacting materials 3 in a reactor 1. During this time, the valve 8 is closed temporarily and then a valve 12 is opened to send a gas 16 from a gas receiving container 9 through a pipe 15 and a branch pipe 13 into the particles of the reacting materials 3. The transfer of the heat generated by the reacting materials 3 is accelerated by the gas 16 and the heat is transferred efficiently to a heat exchanger 6. The valve 12 is then closed and the valve 11 is opened and, at the same time, a gas transporting machine 10 is carried to discharge the gas 16 present between the reacting materials 3 therethrough and then a pipe 17 to the outside. The valve 11 is thereafter closed and then the valve 8 is opened to resend the vapor from the reactant 4 into the reacting materials 3 and the reaction is thus continued. Such a cyclic operation is repeated alternately and intermittently.
