<p>An anti-expulsion safety device for a beverage dispense system comprises a pair of anti-expulsion members (12, 14) within a given keg and pivotally attached to a beverage dispense valve assembly (44), for movement generally radially towards and away from the dispense valve assembly, each anti-expulsion member having its centre of gravity offset from its pivotal axis and a dimension, transverse from its pivotal axis, greater than the radial distance between the dispense valve assembly and the neck (46) of a given keg (48), stop means (20) effective between the anti-expulsion member and the dispense valve assembly are provided; whereby, when the keg is in its normal, beverage-dispensing orientation, the anti-expulsion member will pivot under its own weight radially away from the dispense valve assembly until it is stopped by the stop means, in which position it would foul the keg neck on normal removal of the dispense valve assembly, and, if the keg is inverted, the anti-expulsion member will pivot under its own weight to lie against the dispense valve assembly and permit removal of the dispense valve assembly from the keg.</p> |
