The film magazine has a supply spool (20) and a take-up spool (34) fitted to a film storage drum (26,28) for relative movement to the latter. The film examination device (36,38) between the supply spool (20) and the take-up spool is attached to the film storage drum (26,28). Pref. the film examination device (36,38) comprises a light source (36) and a camera (38) positioned on opposite sides of the film (16). A vidicon camera or CCD camera is pref. used.
