Apparatus for implanting parapulpary pins into teeth, consisting of a drive shaft which can be introduced into the dental angle-piece and is provided with a standard coupling, and of a threaded pin which is connected to the drive shaft, and of a stop mechanism for limiting the depth of penetration of the threaded pin into the tooth, characterised in that the drive shaft (2) is formed by a sleeve which has at the bottom of the sleeve a plug socket (4) for the threaded pin (1) for the purpose of producing a rotary joint. The socket is formed by the profiled bore, for example a square blind bore, and the threaded pin (1) is provided at its one end with a correspondingly profiled end piece. Provided in the wall of the sleeve is a brake mechanism, for example a small spring plate, which prevents the parapulpary pin from being extracted and secures it against falling out. The drive shaft (3) can be designed in two parts (5, 6), for which purpose the drive shaft (3) can, for example, consist of, on the one hand, a mandrel (5) bearing the standard coupling (2) and the socket for the parapulpary pin (1) and, on the other hand, a sleeve (6) which surrounds the mandrel (5) and projects forwards beyond its end, the mandrel and the sleeve being connected to one another by means of a bearing (8).
