PURPOSE:To prepare the title compsn. which is excellent in flame retardance and mechanical strengths and generates no halogen gas during burning by compounding an olefinic resin, magnesium hydroxide, a phosphorus-contg. resin, zinc borate or antimony trioxide., and a lubricant each in a specified amt., and a blowing agent and a crosslinker. CONSTITUTION:The title compsn. comprises 100 pts.wt. olefinic resin (e.g. an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer); 50-200 pts.wt. magnesium hydroxide; 5-100 pts.wt. phosphorus-contg. resin (e.g. a polyaryloxyphosphazene); 5-50 pts.wt. zinc borate or antimony trioxide; 0.5-5 pts.wt. lubricant (e.g. a fatty acid amide); a blowing agent (e.g. azodicarbonamide); and a crosslinker (e.g. dicumyl perox ide). |
