PURPOSE:To improve operability by enabling the pull action of a parking brake operating lever to such a brake operating position as to generate constant braking force by the operation of a motor when the above-mentioned lever is pulled manually to a set angle. CONSTITUTION:When a lever 1 is pulled up to a set angle in the released state of a parking brake, a limit switch SW5 is turned on by a cam 18 so as to rotate a motor M as well as turn a limit switch SW4b off, and thereafter a current is applied through limit switches SW1, SW4a, SW4b so as to continue the rotation of the motor M. Pull-up strokes from this time on are performed by power driving. Upon reaching the state where the parking brake is in sufficient effect, a locking piece 38 is moved by reaction, so that the limit switch SW4a is turned on and the current carrying to the motor M is cut off, and the pulled-up position of the lever 1 is held by the self-constraint function of a ratchet lock mechanism 11 and a speed reducer 20. |
