<p>The radio direction finding antenna system consists of four identical dipoles (E, N, O, S) and is intended for the determination of the angle in which an incident plane electromagnetic wave is propagated with respect to a reference direction (O-E).
<??>The radiating elements are associated in a first and a second pair, (E-O) and (N-S), each element of a pair being opposite to and inverted with respect to the other. The antenna system incorporates a processing unit (10) which consists of (a) a first matched divide-by-two power divider (11) receiving the signals from the first pair (E-O) of dipoles and a second matched divide-by-two power divider (12), identical to the first (11), receiving the signals from the second pair (N-S) of dipoles, and (b) a hybrid junction (13) of the 3 dB-90 DEG type, receiving the signals delivered by the matched divide-by-two power dividers and supplying two signals at its output whose phase difference is a linear function of the required angle of incidence.
<??>Application to radiolocation.
