PURPOSE:To greatly generate a damping force by a small size device in response to the demand by generating a damping pressure by a small rotary pilot damper, thereby controlling the frictional damping force of the rotary damper serving as a main damper. CONSTITUTION:The rear wheel of a motorcycle is supported by a swing arm 1 supported on the car body by a shaft 7 so that it can freely oscillate, and a rotary damper 5 is provided between the car body and the swing arm 1. The rotary damper 5 is provided so that plural disc rotors 8 spline-connected to the shaft 7 are pinched by plural stators 9 interpoded between the rotors 8, and thus rotational displacement of the shaft 7 is damped by frictional force. The stators 9 are pressed by the operation of a hydraulic piston 10 arranged in a case 6. In the case 6, a rotary pilot damper 15 rotating integrally with the shaft 7 is provided to regulate the oil pressure acting on the hydraulic piston 10 to control a generating damping force. |
