The present invention relates to a safety device for vehicles having an injection engine. These vehicles have high fuel pressure on the intake side in the fuel system. If the lines are fractured in a possible collision, there is a risk of pressurized fuel being dispersed over the hot engine, which is thus greatly at risk of catching fire. A valve 16 is disposed on the supply line 12 between the fuel pump 10 and the fuel distribution pipe 6, the primary function of which valve is to be able, in the event of collision, rapidly to evacuate the high pressure present in the supply line 12 and the fuel distribution pipe 6. The drive mechanism of the valve is a coil 25. In the event of collision, a crash sensor 28 delivers a signal to the first control member 26 of the valve, which controls the valve body 17 such that the fuel supply to the motor 5 is interrupted and the fuel is led back to the fuel tank 9 via the return line 13. The valve 16 can additionally have a second function of acting as an anti-theft device. For this second function a second control member 27 is present, comprising an anti- theft lock, the function of which is to control the valve body 17 so that a fuel supply from the fuel pump 10 to the engine 5 is enabled only once the user has given a correct multi-digit code to the anti-theft lock 27. <IMAGE> |
