PURPOSE:To relieve the load of a subscriber exchange side or the like at a network side by providing an extension virtual path identifier to a header of a communication cell for extension addressed in a same subscriber's equipment, identifying it with a loopback means of a line termination means and looping back the result to a subscriber's equipment. CONSTITUTION:An extension use virtual path identifier is provided on a header of an extension communication cell 14 addressed to a same subscriber's equipment sent from an optional terminal equipment 8n in a subscriber's equipment 15. The identifier is identified by a loopback means 10 in a line termination means 9 to loop back the extension communication cell 14 to a terminal equipment side of the subscriber's equipment 15 by a loopback means 10. An opposite terminal equipment 81 identifies a virtual channel identifier added to a header of the looped-back communication cell 14 to identify the communication cell 14 to be a cell addressed to itself and receives the communication cell 14. Thus, the load such as a subscriber exchange or the like at a network side is relieved. |
