PURPOSE:To eliminate poor cleaning and filming to a photosensitive body and to stabilize electric chargeability characteristics by using a toner containing an fatty acid metal salt and a carrier coated with a silicone resin containing a fatty acid metal salt. CONSTITUTION:This developer comprises the toner containing the fatty acid metal salt and the carrier having on the surface of the coating layer containing the fatty acid metal salt. It is preferred for the toner to have a volume average particle diameter of <=10mum. This toner can be prepared, e.g., by kneading a binder resin, such as a styrene-n-hutylmethacrylate copolymer, a colorant, a polarity controller, and the like, pulverizing and classifying them, and adding the fatty acid metal salt, such as zinc stearate, and the carrier can be prepaid, for example, by coating spherical ferrite particles with a coating fluid containing a silicone resin, a colorant, zinc stearate, and the like. |
