PURPOSE:To improve superconductive properties by reacting an oxide expressed by a specific chemical composition formula with Cu raw material. CONSTITUTION:An oxide expressed by a chemical formula: (R1-xCax) (Ba1-ySry)2 Cu3O7-z (R is one or more species selected from Y Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm and Yb; 0.001<=x<=0.25; 0<=y<=0.5; 0<=z<=1) and Cu raw material such as CuO are crushed, mixed and molded. Resultant molded material is sintered in O2 gas atmosphere to afford the aimed oxide superconductor expressed by a chemical composition formula: (R1-xCax) (Ba1-xSry)2Cu4O8. Said oxide superconductor is a compound having basic crystal structure containing double CuO chains composed of R (1), Ba (2), Cu (3) and O (4) and having a substituted structure of a part of Y with Ca and a part of Ba with Sr.
