PURPOSE:To use all the generated ozone for reaction with odorous components so that remarkable improvement in deodorizing effect is made by constituting the discharge electrode of a corona discharger which generates the ozone of an ozone decomposing catalyst layer and bringing air contg. the odorous components into contact with this ozone decomposing catalyst layer. CONSTITUTION:Corona discharge is generated in an ozone decomposing catalyst layer 8 by impressing a high frequency by a power source 7 between paired electrodes 5 and 6 embedded in dielectrics 4. The ozone is generated by this corona discharge and the generated ozone is immediately decomposed to an oxygen molecule and an active oxygen atom by coming into contact with the catalyst. The active oxygen atom reacts with the odorous component in the air, thereby deodorizing the air. |
