PURPOSE:To suppress attenuation of output due to repeated traveling by coating a magnetic coating film with a top coating layer containing tocols (tocopherols). CONSTITUTION:A magnetic layer is formed on a nonmagnetic supporting body and this magnetic layer is covered with a top coating layer containing tocols. On coating the top coating layer, tocols may be dissolved in a proper org. solvent and then applied or sprayed, or the medium may be dipped in this solution. The top coating layer may contain only tocols or tocols and a well- known lubricant mixed thereinto. Thereby, changes in quality of a magnetic head due to repeated traveling can be prevented and attenuation of output can be suppressed. |
