<p>PURPOSE:To increase a range, in which an SOF can be adsorbed, and restrict an increase of sulfuric acid mist by interposing a catalytic device at a place within an exhaust passage, which is far away from an engine and situated on the downstream side of a confluent point of branched passages one of which is provided with a trap. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust passage 2 is branched into two passages at a place that is comparatively near to an engine 1, and a trap 3 with a catalyzer is interposed in one (2A) of the two branched passages 2A, 2B. Meanwhile, a catalytic device 12 is interposed in a muffler 11, which is far away from the engine 1 and situated on the downstream side of the exhaust passage 2. In this case, since the particulates-reducing-performance by the catalytic device 12 depends greatly on the exhaust temperature, a fact that the catalytic device 12 is situated at a place, which is far away from the engine 1 and at a low exhaust temperature, enhances the reducing performance. With this contrivance, a range in which an SOF can be reduced by adsorption, can be widened, and at the same time the value of the particulates reducing ratio never becomes negative even at a high exhaust-gas temperature.</p> |
