PURPOSE:To improve the packaging efficiency by automating a series of processes in which a sheet is pressed against a container, in which items to be stored are placed, and the sheet is cut off. CONSTITUTION:A container 4 which contains items to be stored in recesses 3 is supported by a supporting member 5 and transferred, while a sheet 7 of thermoplastic material is placed over the container 4. The member 5, container 4 and sheet 7 are supported in air-tight manner between upper and lower lids 22, 23 of a sucking means 8 so that closed spaces formed on both sides of the sheet are degassed. And when the air is admitted into the space on the opposite side of the container with respect to the sheet, the sheet is pressed under vacuum against the surfaces of the container 4 and the items to be stored. The member 5 and container 4 are transferred to the downstream side in the direction of transfer A and fed to a cutting means 10, whereby the container is separated into container unit and further transferred to a supporting means 11. The container 4 on the member 5 is lifted and taken out so that a plurality of container units and supporting members are delivered to a direction different from that of the transfer by means of a delivery means 12. |
