MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM AND INFORMATION CODE RECORDING AND REPRODUCING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To facilitate easy impartation of intrinsic ID information, etc., at every magnetic recording by providing isolating pieces of a prescribed thickness on the surface of a magnetic layer and recording information codes by the arrangement thereof. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic card 1 has a substrate 11 and the magnetic layer 12 for magnetically recording data. A band-shaped information code recording area 2 is provided in a part of the card 1. Source signal are recorded on the layer 12 of the recording area 2 and the isolating pieces 21 are disposed at prescribed intervals on the surface thereof. The intrinsic ID information of the respective magnetic cards is indicated by the arrangement of the isolating pieces 21. The isolating pieces 21 are used to be ridden with a magnetic head and to widen the distance between the layer 12 and the magnetic head at the time of scanning reading and writing device, etc., by the magnetic head and are formed of a material which does not affect magnetism, such as resin. Reproduction signal are obtd. by the combination of the decrease of the source signal on the isolating pieces 21 and the detection of the source signal on the region 12 when the recording area 2 is read by the reading and writing device.
