PURPOSE:To perform continuous construction wherein a plurality of single- section lining structures are separated from a compound cross-section lining structure and joined together to form a compound cross-section lining structure again by combining or separating a plurality of single-section shield machines at their forward drum section, girder section and tail section. CONSTITUTION:Single-section shield machines 1a, 1b, in parallel with each other, are advanced side by side to form two parallel tunnels, so that each segment is assembled independently. And when some of jacks 8 of the machines 1a, 1b are extended and the others are contracted so that the forward sections of the excavators are inclined, one of the excavators comes downward and the other upward, whereby the machines 1a, 1b turns, while they are being advanced, so that two tunnels in parallel with each other in a plane including their axes, upper side one and lower side one, are formed. Thereafter, when the sections 2, 3 and 4 are separated from each other, and excavation is performed, two single-section tunnels can be continuously constructed indepen dently in any direction. Said excavators are joined together again to form a compound-section tunnel. |
