A false ceiling construction, preferably for large premises, for example industrial buildings, warehouses or schools. The novel construction comprises a plurality of false ceiling elements 40 which preferably consist of sound-absorbing panels of mineral wool. The false ceiling elements are mounted, leaving intermediate spaces, on an inner ceiling and are supported by a support framework which comprises beams 12. The false ceiling elements are also arranged alternately in two floor plans, each false ceiling element 40 resting freely, adjacent to two of its opposite side edges, on support flanges 36 or 38 located in the same floor plan. This permits horizontal mutual displacement of the false ceiling elements 40 in the two floor plans in order to obtain desired openings in the false ceiling. <IMAGE> |
