WATER-PERMEABLE SHEET UNIT AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject water-permeable sheet unit excellent in touch to the skin and returning properties of liquid by providing an expanded resin layer in the shape of lattice or dots in part of a water-permeable sheet surface composed of a nonwoven fabric, etc. CONSTITUTION:A water-permeable sheet unit obtained by coating a plastic film 22 fed from a feed roll 23 with an expandable resin solution using a gravure cylinder (24a) in the shape of lattice or dots in a coating part 24, then bringing the surface of the film 22 coated with the expandable resin solution into close contact with a water-permeable sheet 11 (e.g. a nonwoven fabric) in a nipping part 26, drying the resultant sheet and film in a drying part 27, forming a film of the expandable resin on the water-permeable sheet 11, peeling the film 22 in a separating part 31, expanding the film of the expandable resin in an expanding part 29 and affording the expanded sheet unit having the expanded resin layer 12 formed in the shape of the lattice or dots on the surface of the water-permeable sheet 11. The resultant water-permeable sheet unit is then used as a top sheet and an absorbing layer is interposed between the aforementioned unit and a water-impermeable sheet which is a back sheet to afford an absorbent article capable of improving feeling of wear and functionality.
