PURPOSE:To automatically generate dump layout source by extracting the record structure and field attribute of a corresponding file from the file specification library of a file definition sub system presented by a data definition support system, and using these extracted data. CONSTITUTION:The record structure and field attribute of the relevant file are extracted from the file specification library of a file definition sub system 2 presented by a data definition support system 2A and based on the extracted record structure and field attribute, the dump layout source is generated by the data definition support system while using a specification library 11, parameter 12, dump layout source data preparation program 13 and SYSOUT. Thus, manual inputs and manual correction are not required and dump layout source 13 is automatically generated without fail.
