PURPOSE:To obtain a mixer element enhanced in heat-exchanging efficiency by providing a cavity or cavities in a plate body having a twist angle of 180 deg.. CONSTITUTION:Each element 1 is a plate body having a twist angle of 180 deg. and provided therein with a cavity or cavities 1a substantially in correspondence with the outer shape thereof and over the entire region thereof. The cavity or cavities 1a may take various forms, e.g., a simple integral cavity, a cavity having a plurality of axial grooves, or a plurality of axial unit cavities. The presence of the cavity or cavities 1a, particularly a narrow cavity or cavities, ensures a high coefficient of heat transfer of up to about 2 times those of conventional typical static mixer elements. |
