<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an epoxy derivative useful as a raw material of an epoxy resin, an intermediate of organic chemical agent, medicinal drug or agricultural agent, etc., or monomer for an optical material resin in high selectivity by epoxydizing a dicyclopentadiene derivative with hydrogen peroxide at a specific condition. CONSTITUTION:A dicyclopentadiene derivative expressed by formula I [R is H or CH2-C(R<1>)-CO- (R<1> is H or methyl)] is epoxydized in a heterogeneous system composed of aqueous hydrogen peroxide dissolving a heteropolyacid and a water-insoluble solvent dissolving an onium salt to afford the aimed dicyclopentadiene epoxy derivative expressed by formula II.</p> |
