METHOD AND DEVICE FOR WORKING METALLIC ROLL SURFACE

PURPOSE:To easily obtain a skin pass roll for producing a metallic thin sheet meeting the needs of workability in pressing and image clarity by irradiating the surface of the metallic roll with plural laser beams having different outputs and frequencies. CONSTITUTION:Plural laser oscillators 5-9 having different outputs are provided at different positions on the surface of a metallic roll 2 in its circumferential direction. A controller 7 is provided to control the output and frequency of the laser beam in accordance with the turning rate of the roll 2. The laser irradiation parts 6 and 11 are made movable in the axial direction of the roll 2. The roll 2 is supported and rotated by a rotating device 1. The surface of the roll 2 is irradiated with plural laser beams having different outputs and frequencies by using the above-mentioned device.
