PURPOSE:To perform a perfect recovery at the occurrence of a failure without deteriorating an execution performance by informing a host of the job name of an unfixed previous job and the occurrence of the failure. CONSTITUTION:When format information of a job is received, a job name is set to a format name register 4. After the printing of the last page of the page is started, a position counter 5 is reset to '0' at the reception of a printing completion information from a device part 7. The increment of the position counter 5 is conducted on a signal (a) issued from the device part 7 at every page running. Simultaneously, the count value is checked by a control part 1. If the last page exists on an unfixed position at the occurrence of a failure, the control part 1 informs a host interface of the job name written in the format name register 4 and the occurrence of the failure. On the other hand, when the last page is fixed, the control part 1 also informs the host of the completion of the fixing. Based on this information, the host can conduct a page recovery including the previous job, as required. |
