PURPOSE:To allow the simultaneous processing of waterless planographic plates and PS plates with one unit of automatic developing machine by supplying an unused developing soln. contg. a surfactant and an org. solvent onto the surface of one sheet each of photosensitive planographic printing plates to be processed, and thereby executing the development processing. CONSTITUTION:The unused developing soln. is uniformly applied from develop ing soln. supplying members 3a, 3b of the automatic developing machine onto the surface of each one sheet of the photosenstive planographic printing plates. The plate surface is rubbed with rotary brushes 8a, 8b. The developing soln. on the plate surface and the removed matter of the photosensitive layer and silicone rubber layer in the image parts of the printing plate are squeezed by squeezing rollers 12 to end the development. The plate is then subjected to washing in a washing section 2. The developing soln. to be used contains water as its main solvent and contains the surfactant and org. solvent. The surfactant may be any of anionic, nononic, cationic and amphoteric sufactants and is more preferably the nonionic type surfactant. Various kinds, such as, for exam ple, paraffinic hydrocarbon and arom. hydrocarbon, are used as the org. solvent. |
