The installation for continuously machining elongate rough sawn timber comprises, in combination, a planing machine (1) for machining the four longitudinal faces of the timbers, a tenoner (2) for machining the ends of the timbers and making tenons on them, and a shaper (3) for longitudinally shaping the said timbers. Conveying means are provided for transferring the said timbers continuously from the planing machine (1) towards the tenoner (2) then towards the shaper (3), these means furthermore being designed to transfer, if necessary, the timbers directly from the planing machine (1) to the shaper (3). Use particularly for manufacturing wooden doors and windows. <IMAGE>
