SILVER HALIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE MATERIAL HAVING HIGH SENSITIVITY AND SUPERIOR SHELF STABILITY

PURPOSE:To ensure high sensitivity and to improve shelf stability by using silver halide particles each having a surface layer whose silver iodide content is higher than that of an inner phase adjacent to the surface layer. CONSTITUTION:Silver halide particles each having a surface layer whose silver iodide content is higher than that of an inner phase adjacent to the surface layer are used. The surface layer is composed of five layers of atoms. At the time of forming particles, an aq. halide soln. or fine silver iodide particles are added so as to highly iodize the surface layers of the particles. Halogen ion transformation is caused on the surfaces of the silver halide particles by the solubility difference between silver iodide and silver bromide or silver chloride and the surface layers of the particles are highly iodized. High sensitivity is ensured and shelf stability is improved without affecting fog or deteriorating graininess.
