PURPOSE:To obtain the toner which has a sufficient triboelectrostatic charge quantity and the uniform triboelectrostatic charge among toner particles and to obtain good images which are free from fogging by incorporating the condensation products of specific p-phenylphenol aldehyde as a charge control agent. CONSTITUTION:The condensation products of the p-phenylphenol aldehyde which have the partial constitutional formula expressed by formula I and are insoluble in tetrahydrofuran are incorporated into the toner. In the formula I, R1 denotes hydrogen or methyl group; R2 and R3 respectively independently denote hydrogen, 1 to 6C alkyl group, halogen, carboxyl group, etc. This condensation product has a three-dimensional crosslinking structure in which the phenyl group part of the substituent is crosslinked and, therefore, the condensation product is preferable as the charge control agent. The high triboelectrostatic charge ability is attained by the electron-attractive property of the phenyl group. Since the dispersibility in a binder resin improves, the triboelectrostatic charge among the toner particles is uniformized and the formation of the reverse charged particles is suppressed. The generation of the fogging is thus prevented. |
