PURPOSE:To prolong a service life of a light deflector and to reduce power consumption by lowering fixing temperature of a fixing device to a specified lower temperature than a set temperature and stopping or decelerating the deflector when the power source is connected and the image is not outputted. CONSTITUTION:Laser light modulated by image information is generated by a modulated light generating means, the laser light from this modulated light generating means is deflected by a light deflector 3, a latent image is formed by the laser light from the deflector 3 being scanned on a photosensitive body, and this latent image is developed by a developing device to be a visual image. This visual image is transferred to a transfer material by a transfer device, fixed by a fixing device 2 but the fixing device 2 is preheated after the power source is connected, and the deflector 3 is rotated by a rotation drive means. Then, the fixing temperature of the fixing device 2 is lowered to the specified temperature which is lower than the set temperature and the deflector 3 is stopped or slowed down when the power source is connected and the image is not outputted with the control means 4 by a preheating signal from a preheat key 1. Thus, the service life of the deflector 3 can be prolonged and the consumed electricity can be lowered without giving any time loss to a user. |
