PURPOSE:To make improvement in the strength of dedendum parts by pressing the bottom of parts by means of a tool which presses the bottom of the parts, and thereby generating residual compressive stresses from the bottom to the dedendum. CONSTITUTION:A gear 1 which is a part to be treated, a guide gear 3 and a tool 4 are disposed in prescribed positions and the tool 4 is pressed to the gear 1 by the load W predetermined according to the material, size, etc., of the gear 1. The bottom part 1a of the gear 1 is strongly pressed by the pressing projection 4a of the tool 4 and the guide gear 3 is rotationally driven in an arrow direction. The respective pressing projections 4a are continuously pressed to the respective bottom parts 1a of the gear 1 by this rotation to successively press these parts, by which the treatment to reinforce the dedendum in a short period of time is completed. The respective residual compressive stresses are generated from the bottom parts 1a to the dedendum parts 1b of the gear 1 in this way, by which the improvement in the fatigue strength of the gear 1 is made. |
