PURPOSE:To actuate a system similarly to a ROM by providing a memory part with a read/write memory which is backed up by a backup power source and storing a system program in the RWM. CONSTITUTION:The memory 2' for system start up is equipped with the read/ write memory (RWM) 2b as a writable and readable memory in addition to the ROM 2a. Then when the version of th system program is renewed, a system load program is incorporated in the system program and the system program regarding the version newal is written in the RWM 2b of the memory 2' from a floppy disk as an external storage part 3 according to a routing (mode A). The system program which is thus written in the RWM 2b is backed up by the backup power source 8, so the device operates similarly to a ROM-base device on condition that the result of a sum check is normal when the device is powered on.
