<p>PURPOSE:To improve treating efficiency and device compactness by a method wherein the acid fermentation treating water equivalent to a part of the effective volume of an acid fermentation tank is left therein, the remainder is subjected to centrifugal separation for solid-liquid separation and the separated water is supplied into a methane fermentation tank for effecting fermentation. CONSTITUTION:The acid fermentation treating water equivalent to about 30-70% of the effective amt. of an acid fermentation tank 8, i.e., the mixed acid fermentation liq., is left in the acid fermentation tank 8, the remainder, about 70-30% of the mixed acid fermentation liq. 19, is subjected to centrifugal separation and the separated water 21 is supplied into a methane fermentation tank 9. In this way acid-forming bacteria are retained, the acid fermentation is stabilized and the pH of the liq. in the acid fermentation tank is adjusted. Moreover, the methane fermenting treatment of a high SS-containing org. waste water can be effected at a high speed and a low cost and this method is conductive to energy conservation and makes a waster water treating equipment compact.</p> |
