<p>The invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising in admixture with a pharmacologically acceptable carrier at least one isomonool represented by the formula (I): <CHEM> wherein R is an alkyl group with 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and n is an integer of 4 to 22. Said compositions are useful for the treatment and prophylaxis of cancer.</p>
