PURPOSE:To prevent an accident such as the inversion of the inter-electrode potential difference or a blow-by phenomenon by controlling the output in response to quantities of fuel and air fed to a fuel cell main body to have a time margin until the required output is attained when a load is quickly increased. CONSTITUTION:Quantities of fuel and air fed to a fuel cell main body 13 are detected and controlled via a control device 18 respectively. The output of a cell is detected, and the output of a power converting device 16 is controlled via the control device 18. The cell output is fed to a load 17 via the power converting device 16. When a load is quickly increased and a load rise command is inputted to the control device 18, the control device 18 sets the increase target values of feed quantities of fuel gas and air. The control device 18 increases or decreases the target values while monitoring the output and continues the control until the required output is attained. Gas deficiency and mixing of fuel and air can be prevented when the load is quickly increased. |
