PURPOSE:To prevent theft of a terminal equipment and illegal use of the terminal equipment by operating a measuring means after a broken line with a host computer is detected and disabling the use of the equipment when number of times of use of the communication terminal equipment and its operating time reach the prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:At application of power, a controller 3 decrements a down- counter 2 by 1 and after it is confirmed that the count is 1 or over, an orchestral accompaniment reproduction device 4 is started. The user operates the device 4 to enjoy the orchestral accompaniment. lf the count of the counter 2 is 0 or below, the device 4 is not started. When the controller 3 detects the end of play of one music, a communication controller 1 sends a sales log to a host computer 5. After the controller 3 confirms the normal end, a prescribed initial value (e.g., 10) is set to the counter 2 and in the case of not being normal end, the counter 2 is decremented by 1. Thus, even when the connection to the host 5 is disabled, the device is used till the count of the counter 2 reaches 0 or below. Conversely, even when the communication line is broken due to illegal use or the terminal equipment is stolen, the equipment is used only up to 10 times. |
